Scope of Work:
Reconstruction of roads and bridges on approximately 3.4 miles of Hutchinson River Parkway from Route 287 to Merritt Parkway. Construction included new storm drainage; crack and sealing of existing Hutchinson Parkway lanes (Northbound and Southbound); paving, leveling and asphalt overlaying at the Route 287 and King Street intersection. Work also included installation of approximately 3.4 miles of permanent concrete median barrier; new guide rail; sign structures with signs; Northbound and Southbound mainline paving and restriping. Rehabilitation at the Southbound Hutchinson River Parkway - 684 bridge/overpass included the reconstruction of bridge jacking pedestal; new bridge bearings; structural steel modifications and painting; removal of existing bridge rail and installation of new stone faced parapet barrier; new armored joint system and concrete deck sealer. Rehabilitation of the Purchase Street Bridge involved subsurface utility relocations; widening of the existing concrete structure - HP concrete; installation of waterproofing membrane; concrete approach and deck slabs; deck sealer application; new parapet barrier with stone masonry; new entrance ramp northbound and new traffic signals on Purchase Street. Rehabilitation of the Lincoln Avenue Bridge involved subsurface utility relocations; widening of the existing concrete structure - HP concrete; installation of waterproofing membrane; concrete approach and deck slabs; deck sealer application; new parapet barrier with stone masonry; new entrance ramp; new traffic signals; relocation of gas main; sanitary sewer extensions to existing storm drain culverts along the blind brook and new box culverts along Lincoln Avenue. Ridge Street Reconstruction involved erection of a temporary bridge to detour traffic while the Ridge Street Bridge was demolished and reconstructed. The relocation of the existing gas and water main to cross underneath the Hutchinson River Parkway. Reconstruction involved new HP concrete footings and arch structures; new structural slab and approach slabs with transverse sawcut grooving and decal sealing. Construction of precast concrete noise wall through residential areas along the Northbound and Southbound lanes of the Hutchinson river Parkway; new wood fences; chain link R.O.W. fences and landscaping.
