The Region 8 Bundled Bridges project includes two contractual detours tied to contract milestones with very aggressive schedules.  ECCO III recently completed both of these Project milestones ahead of schedule!

ECCO III was permitted by the contract to close the Route 208 Bridge over Moodna Creek for a period of 43 days, detouring traffic onto local roads while the bridge superstructure was completely demolished, removed, and replaced. To accomplish the work, ECCO III worked double and triple shifts, six days per week, and was able to open the bridge two full days ahead of the contract milestone. ECCO III maintained communication with the Village of Washingtonville officials, local residents and adjacent businesses throughout the construction work to provide updates and information on the work. ECCO III listened to the concerns of the adjacent businesses who would be seriously impacted by the closure, and worked together with NYSDOT to shift the bridge closure so that the businesses could operate unimpeded for the July 4th holiday weekend.

At the Bedford Road and Pleasantville Road sites, ECCO III was permitted to close the Southbound Saw Mill River Parkway for a 0.3-mile length, over a period of 21 days (24/7). During this closure, traffic was maintained via one single lane in each direction (northbound and southbound), running in the two northbound lanes and separated by temporary concrete barrier. This on-site detour facilitated the complete demolition and replacement of two bridges that carry the southbound parkway lanes over the Saw Mill River. ECCO III met this aggressive schedule and was able to open the Parkway one day ahead of the contract milestone.

Congratulations to the Project Staff and the ECCO family on these accomplishments!
