With a Near Perfect Score, ECCO III Beat 9 Other Bidders to Be Selected Best Value Contractor for D264422 Replacement Bronx River Parkway Bridge Over Metro North Railroad in the Borough of the Bronx

The replacement of the Bronx River Parkway Bridge over Metro North Railroad is a $64 Million project to improve the structure of both the bridge and roadway to make for safer travelling. There will be structural repairs and pavement widening of the bridge itself as well as new retaining walls, new shoulder and roadway improvements including new lighting, drainage, traffic cameras, sign structures and putting in place elements for future use ITS. This project is being performed over highly active operating railroad tracks and requires coordination with Metro North to ensure all elements of the project are performed safely. This project also requires working with the NYC Dept of Parks an Recreation in managing removal of trees, parks improvements and the Arch Bridge Repair. The NYC Department of Environmental Protection with be involved due to the close proximity to existing sewer lines. Working closely together with these agencies will ensure the job is completed in a safe and timely manner with minimal impacts to the traveling public.
