Scope of Work:
The primary objective of the Enhanced Station Initiative Design-Build Program is to build upon the NYC Subway’s existing system legacy, while establishing a consistent system-wide identity that is anchored in a clearly expressed station structure and a distinct wayfinding system. The core design principles that comprise the framework for the program include optimizing reliability and efficiency, simplifying communication, enhancing the user experience, unifying the system, highlighting the unique station characteristics and connecting the stations to the city. 
 
The work for this package includes significant upgrades to the stations at: 72nd Street, 86th Street, 110th Street and 163rd Street, along Central Park West and the West Bronx. The overall contract duration of 13.5 months will consist of a design period, followed by individual bypasses (closure periods) at each station to facilitate the expedient construction work. Typical work scope includes: design administration, sand blasting, painting, new architectural finishes (flooring, wall tiles), platform edges, electrical/non-electrical industrial design items (dashboards, totems, benches, trash receptacles, etc.), leak repairs, waterproofing, steel repairs, stair reconstruction, hand rails, glass fare arrays, decluttering, back-of-house room reconstruction, preparation for art installation, mechanical/electrical/plumbing, and lighting.
